From Track to Tow – Generations of Guthrie Automotive Passion
At Bowman’s Wrecker Service, cars aren’t just a job—they’re part of the family. David Bowman’s love for performance vehicles started on the dragstrip and continues today in the way we treat every vehicle we tow.
From racing dragsters to rescuing daily drivers, our team approaches every job with the same passion and precision. Even David’s son caught the bug early—seen here in his peewee dragster, about to launch off the starting line.
About Bowman’s Wrecker Service
Bowman’s Wrecker has become one of the most recognized names in Central Oklahoma. What began as a dream for David Bowman took hard work, determination, ingenuity, and risk.
In its early days, Bowman’s was a one-man operation. David eventually leased a full-service Sinclair gas station on the east side of I‑35 in Guthrie—more than just a filling station. It was a community hub where he performed repairs, changed tires, and helped countless stranded drivers get back on the road.
The roots of Bowman’s Wrecker Service go back 35 years—but David’s roots run even deeper here in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He’s raised his family here, built his business here, and stayed actively involved in the community—from class reunions to car shows to emergency calls in the middle of the night.
🚗 Born Into Horsepower
David grew up around cars, racing parts, and people who loved to build motors. His older brother raced, and the whole family was always near the garage. That’s where the passion for horsepower began.
He eventually built and raced his own drag trucks—including the one pictured here. But he gave up racing to support his young son, coaching him through years of competition in Jr. Dragsters—and plenty of trophies to show for it.
Even David’s son caught the bug early—seen here in his Jr. Dragster, about to launch off the starting line. It’s all part of the Bowman tradition: horsepower, precision, and treating every ride like it’s our own.
🤝 Built on Values
Bowman’s Wrecker hasn’t just built a business—it’s built a legacy. Through professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for every customer, David and his team have earned their reputation the hard way: by showing up, day or night, in the heat, snow, or storms.
They’ve pulled strangers from ditches at 3 a.m., helped families through wrecks, and delivered prized classics with the care of a fellow enthusiast.
David will be the first to tell you:
“If it weren’t for this great community and the people of Logan County, Bowman’s wouldn’t be what it is today. -Thank you, Oklahoma.”
